If the combined grosses of The Nutty Professor, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, and Patch Adams are any indication, more poeple are on board with Steve Oedekerk's fundamentally silly sense of humor than I thought. And his Thumb series is custom-made for people with a weird sense of humor. For those lacking that particular trait, I recommend drinking prior to viewing. But even cold sober, I thought The Blair Thumb was great. This parody of The Blair Witch Project moves at a breakneck speed and is a splendid combination of vocal nonsequiturs, slapstick, and thumbs giving brilliantly goofy expressions. If that sounds damn strange, good. Watch it, and you'll understand what I'm talking about. Mallow. Mallow . . . Mallow! Mallow! Mallow! Mallow!
