My wife pushed to rent this one just because we could not believe a movie would so blatantly rip another movie--right on the box. I mean, the cover of Bloody Murder features a big guy, in a jump suit, with a hockey mask, weilding a chainsaw! The Friday the 13th people might consider suing Artisan (after all, they've got dough now), but then, that might bring more attention to this crappy picture. I feel bad giving this one the review it deserves, because I listened to some of director Ralph Portillo's commentary on the DVD, and he seems like a decent enough guy. I write in my spare time, and I know how involving the creative process can be. So if I'm ever published, you all can take your shots at me. Here goes, in list form, what I thought about this flicker:
Most frustratingly, the movie doesn't just try to confuse us about the identity of the killer; it seems to change its own mind about the matter. Now, I can't even remember who did it. Oops, don't care, either. (Apr 18, 2001)

Not related to the Friday the 13th series of films, nor, despite its alternate title, is it related to any of three early seventies films known as Scream Bloody Murder.
The DVD features a "skip-to-a-murder" feature.
