A "documentary" about six murders committed by Rustin Parr in the 1940s--murders some think were influenced by the Maryland entity known as the Blair Witch--and the very long-term effects the murders had on the one child who survived.

Unlike the watchable but disappointing Sticks and Stones: Investigating the Blair Witch, The Burkittsville 7 is more than just a retread of the same ground covered in the quite good mockumentary Curse of the Blair Witch. Instead of attempting to cover a wide range of Blair Witch activity, Burkittsville deals with the details and repercussions of only one event within that mythology--the 1940s child murders by Rustin Parr. Not only does it present an interesting and reasonably believable account of what happened--in short, insanity--to the one child who survived being kidnapped by Parr, but it also indicates that the very identity of the murderer might be more sinister than anyone thinks. The Burkittsville 7 is a surprising enrichment of the Blair Witch mythology.
