Brilliant book, basically. One of the finest Clive Barkers you can find; the characters are detailed and the plot involving--this book twists and turns and you really do not know what to expect next. By getting into the heads of all the main characters you get to see the world from numerous directions, all of which contrast on some level. This book is a tale of horror, love and, most importantly, minority groups. The Nightbreed begin terrifying but end with your pity and it says a lot about the state of the world. Read this book, it is superior to a lot of Stephen King's work. (Nov 16, 2000) | |
