Resurrection Cemetery is the source of a local urban legend called "Resurrection Mary." She is a woman who appears--sometimes appearing fully human, sometimes without a face--and at times accepts rides from passing cars. On occassion, she will even go to dances, one of which she was reportedly returning from when she was killed in a 1934 car accident. The apparition of Resurrection Mary has ice-cold hands and appears in a white gown. This urban legend has also been reported in the Ramapo Valley of New York. (See Haunted History: New York for more information.)
