Hideous. The only thing that prevents Final Stab from being one of thousands of rightfully lost amateur slasher flicks is decent equipment and a distribution deal at Blockbuster. Unfortunately, too many people on both sides of the camera waste perfectly good film in this scion of April Fool's Day. To writer Matthew Jason Walsh's credit, there is an emphasis on dialogue in the film, but most of it is babble. In and around the babble, senseless characters drop like flies, falling victim to a killer who is evidently quite fond of opening doors and walking through them. Just something I noticed. Aside from the fact that one star bears a passing resemblance to Sean Young and another, George Clooney, the most memorable thing about Final Stab is that it features camerawork that might take The Blair Witch Project's prize for nausea-inducing movement.
