This offering from Tobe Texas Chainsaw Massacre Hooper is nearly gore-free, and that's not a bad thing. Hooper instead opts in Funhouse to spend about half the film building character and situation. There's some neat stuff going on here (including a combined Halloween/Psycho reference), but the funhouse setting--which should have been wonderfully macabre--fails to pay off. Still, it's well-made.

The Funhouse is an amazing film. It didn't need much gore to show Tobe Hooper's unique style. The idea is great and the trashy carnival atmosphere is very realistic. I love the way that the funhouse looks. One of the best touches in the film was the creepy mechanical figures with their jerky movements. I especially love the weird clowns with their insane laughter.
