After a woman's car breaks down, she and her daughter are taken in by a seemingly kind family. Unfortunately, things are not as they seem, as the mentally disturbed family turns on them.

They named this movie a little too well. It has the makings of a great psychological horror piece, but it doesn't come through. Although I sympathized with the woman and her daughter, for most of the film I wasn't totally involved with their plight. The captors are more annoying than menacing, with one notable exception: Burt Reynolds, in a performance of southern-fried monstrosity, is good and disturbing in a role that's almost a flipside of his part in Deliverance.
