Mind Ripper is really just an action movie with horrific overtones, and to even attempt to enjoy it, one probably should check one's brain at the door. That way one won't notice the overly expository dialogue, the predictable plot, and the ocassional bad performance. Ultimately this is a derivitive film, most notably of Alien and The X-Files (Mind Ripper definitely could have been a monster-of-the-week XF episode). Brainless fun, but unfortunately, the emphasis is on the "brainless" part of that phrase. (Dec 31, 1999) | ||||||
