It's obvious that some effort went into making Prom Night a quality horror film. In fact, this film, more than any others that spring to my mind, tries to recreate Halloween, right down to the casting of Jaime Lee Curtis. Unfortunately, the result is just . . . blah. Sly but not intelligent, mildly involving but not scary. In other words, average, but not good. (Feb 8, 1999) | ||||||
Followed by three sequels: Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2, Prom Night III: The Last Kiss, and Prom Night IV: Deliver Us From Evil.
