Call it Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 1.5. After all, it's only part of a new film--nearly half of the movie is footage from the first Silent Night. The rest of it is an exercise in gratuitous violence and poor acting. By the time the killer strides down a street, shooting people at random, I was ready to throw the remote at the TV. And by the time the film lurches to a finale by coming very close to ripping off not just one but two different versions of The Shining (the book and the movie), I was ready to throw the TV through a window.
