A man still recovering from his disturbing experiences during the Vietnam War moves into his aunt's haunted house to find that the house has some nasty things in store for him. Reviewer Jack Witzig praised how House moved from being a more-or-less traditional haunted house story into a weird comedy and did both well.

House II is a spin-off, and not a sequel, to House, and involves a man who moves into a house that has connections both to his past and to other dimensions. Jack Witzig thought House II tried but failed to achieve the comedic horror of its predecessor, saying many disconnected subplots made the story "far too scattershot" to make sense or be very enjoyable.

In a plot that has nothing to do with the alternate dimensions plots of the others in the House series, an electrocuted mass murderer haunts the family of the cop who put him in jail. Critic Jack Witzig called it "string of silly scenes . . . that are astounding in their stupidity."
