Unlike some humorless and horrible movies--Cannibal Ferox jumps to my mind, though some would object--,VS2 knows it's stupid and fake-looking, and therefore knowingly pushes the kitsch-gore envelope (I guess there is a "kitch-gore envelope"). Humor does poke through at times, especially during the nonsequitir beginning, easily the best part of the film. Unfortunately, a bit of self-knowledge doesn't stop Violent Shit from being, well, shitty. All the violence is utterly gratuitous; without any interesting characters to hold our attention, the movie is just a string of killings highlighted by fake gore. Which is just what some of you are looking for. If so, go to town. (Apr 18, 2001)
