A disappointingly mundane action movie that is far too derivitive and predictable to be enjoyable. Between the two of us, my girlfriend and I managed to easily predict everything in the film before it happened. There's a storm at sea and one of the expendable characters is out on the deck. Can you guess what's going to happen? One of the crew sides with the horrifying alien enemy, who has evidently spent far too much time watching Star Trek: First Contact? Wonder what's going to happen to him? I'm not really giving anything away, believe me. Between ripping of the First Contact, Alien, and Leviathan, Virus provides a few barely passable action sequences. Unfortunately, the nasty mechanical creatures look great, but they move as if they're running by remote control. Which they are. And if it looks fake, I cant' get into it, man. Based on a comic book miniseries.
The making of the special effects were documented in Virus: Ghost in the Machine.
