As ghostly thrillers go, The Whispering is run-of-the-mill; there's nothing particularly new as far as concepts or approaches to those concepts. However, what the film does, it does prety well (I particularly liked the seance sequence) and it's grounded by a good performance by Leif Garrett (there's a name I never thought I'd write). However, the whole thing isn't bad, just a bit confusing, and ultimately forgettable.(Dec 27, 1999) | ||||||
